Please don't hate the blue states. We really tried. But we've got the red states around our neck like a giant semi-retarded albatross.
Comments
I'm from germany and everybody over here is shocked. We don't hate you - without people like you, the result would be even worse!
Mike:
We did everything we could. Now it's time for neocons to play themselves out. Interesting that every area that really was impacted by 9/11 voted for Kerry. (NY, NJ, PA, Washington, DC)
Mom
I guess now would be a good time to start selling off the red states. There going for real cheap.. check out the prices
Idaho $20
Kentucky $10
Florida FREE
Texas FREE
Or we could put ourselves up for adoption. Dosn't some country want the armpit of america(NJ)
.
doesn't this just prove to the entire world how really really stupid we are? apparently the only people with brains settled on the coasts. i am SO glad i live in that blue state in the midwest, illinois. i'm still moving, though.
Haha...you liberals lost after all your preaching and exit polls about how you were going to win.
All I know is that I can rest easy for the next 4 years because Bush is president.
Before you sell off MissourAH, please give me a call, so that my partner and I can move. It's bad enough we can't establish a legal love-based partnership in this state, and have to tootle around town behind gun-toting-F150-look-at-my-mudflaps-you-queer hostile rednecks, but to be sold off at auction as well?
People who are glad Bush is in office are either (1) filthy rich, (2) extremely selfish or (3) joining the rest of the flock as dictated to them by their minister/priest/grand wizard, usually a combination of all 3.
Is it me or have we become exactly that which we are fighting against? Isolationist, intolerant fundamentalists hell bent on making the "other" submit to our divinely inspired will.
I am still holding out hope that there may be some touch of humility and humanity left in goverment.
Congratulations, Mr. Bush. You've proven that fear and hate are much more powerful emotions than the empowerment we get from being able to choose which Turd Sandwich (tm) governs us. And it really is a sad day when you make Dick Cheney look like a sane, stable, rational person (at times).
Bernardo: Take an English (or, for that matter, *ANY*) class. Two separate sentences is good; now, try a paragraph (pronounced "PARE-a-graff"). For crying out loud, the only thing missing from your tiny little diatribe is "Thay t0ok er jerbs!" The only thing that's going to get me through the next 4 years is knowing that there won't be 4 more after that.
Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm trying to take a few days off politics (it's hard, I'm pissed) and then I'll really start to reflect on what political actions are most appropriate and effective.
At least we're not in it alone. Someone wisely said, "imagine how it felt in 1984 when mondale won like a single state." They've got a point. There's 48% of us. My instinct is that we have to make our greater economic power more palpable to the right. But more later.
Beleive me, I live in Texas but did my part to try to make this state blue. I knew my vote wouldn't really change anything, since this is his home state, but I was hoping for a miracle. I noticed all the blue states are on either the west or east coast. That just shows how smart those states are, you can get out the quickest if you have to! I have seriously considered moving....
Well.. I am NOT SORRY!!!!
And neither are they...
http://www.werenotsorry.net/
Too damn bad it sucks to be a lib right now..
Please don't sell off all of Virginia. Those of us in the counties/cities surrounding DC, voted for Kerry by an average of 62%(Falls Church, Fairfax, Alexandria, Vienna, Reston, etc).
I worked my fanny off for the Kerry campaign as did many of my neighbors, including one who is a Cuban/American and a Democrat(very rare and let me add, he and his wife are true diamonds of the human race)! See it CAN happen! We have the right message, its just not getting out because we have to fight the brainwashing by FOX, the GOP's 24 hour propaganda channel.
You really are the sickness, perhaps if we had enough vaccine we could have vaccinated Ohio from your fascist disease.
THASICKNESS...go voice your opinion on Rush's show. We don't want people like you here! Apologies to the rest of the world. I just spoke with someone in my office who is glad about the offensive going on in IRAQ today. She said she hopes they all die. That is the sickness we are dealing with. We have 2 groups that voted for bush (both of which are ignorants) One group is the evagleicals that are as bad as the islamist extremists. The other groupd are conservative, NON RELIGIOUS people who have no idea what si going on and beleive they are BORN into their political affiliates. They vote republican no matter who is running. GOD HELP AMAERICA!
I'm from Switzerland. I really do not hate the US, I only hate Bush! Why can a big and important country lika the US vote for such an evel president?? Here there are people which say, Bush is a good president. Their arguments: God leads him. Oh how can these people think something like that???
Sorry world but we did not cave in like these people posting these messages.
We will never surrender our rights to defend our vital interests to the interests of the european union and the corrupted organization like the UN.
Sorry guys.
As a Canadian I'm sorry that the blue states did not do better. Itis a sorry world that the red staes have to put up with what they voted for. Just so long the red legislatures do not try pushing their agenda on Canada.
I am sorry world. Many of us know that this election was fixed. Ironic that the exit polls indicated Kerry was the winner. Then, suddenly it comes out that in areas where there were paper trails and paper votes, Kerry was shown as winning in these polls, and he did. Then, in areas where they say the polls were 'not accurate,' again showing Kerry as winning, are the places where the polls were electronic. Coincidence? NO.
This election does not represent America's majority. I am sorry world. This man is pushing democracy on the world and not even allowing his own citizens the right to a true, accurate vote.
I am sorry world. I am sorry.
I'm sorry too, but I'm madder than I am sorry.
Let's promote a more accurate map that colors each state regionally. I, for example, live in a red state, but the town in which I live voted 74% for Kerry.
Newseek has such a map coming out soon, if not already. It basically shows that metropolitan areas are blue and that the possum-eating, spoon-playing rural areas are red.
Anyway, sorry I got off on a tangent...and SORRY WORLD!
Sorry World ... I'm as disgusted as the rest of the intelligent voters who tried to oust that escaped circus clown from the White House. We have an education problem in our country and there are just too many ignorant people among us. Bush speaks at their level so well, they blindly follow him. I pray God forgives my United States of America.
I can't believe Bush won,and I fear for the nation and the world. Like Chris Matthews said
"the God fearing people outvoted the Bush fearing". So where do we go from here? Noone knows, but I pray for all of us, especially the soldiers there in Fallujah. Let them be safe from harm.
I am not only sorry, but very SAD and SCARED. I fear with Bush the violence and terrorism will only escalate. I am also ASHAMED that so many people in the US are so ignorant.
We're sorry world that so many Americans care more about the sexual orientation of their neighbors than innocent civilians dying in Irag. We're sorry that their political savy stops with self-interest and they can't see beyond their own small-minded communities. But not all of us!Don't give up on us -- we're the ones for human rights, for environmental values, for the rights of nations, for the impoverished worldwide, and AGAINST THE INVASION OF IRAQ-- we'll be back!!
Americans
Horror of horrors, how could you re-elected Bush.
No.......
From Taiwanese seeking for unification with China
I have recently moved back to india after studying in the US for 3 years. I am not an american citizen, yet my boyfriend who is one, and also a staunch republic, mostly due to his equally republican parents, was successfully coaxed by me to vote democratic instead this time around. Its education people. its about reaching out to those republicans who really do not know better and showing them otherwise. I met Matt (my boyfriend) a month after 9/11, we were living in Boston, and ofcourse I , being of Indian nationality felt the brunt of Bush's policies and his exemplary fear tactics peopogated amongst the citizens, first hand. Matt saw this bias and inequality on a day to day basis, I draged him to all democratic meetings, wherever there was one, even though I was in no way elligle to vote, but my voice, Matt, after three years of exposure to a world where there is a possiblity of peace, love for the environment, love for your fellow humans irrespective of race, sex, creed, or even sexual orientation, started beleving in it. So much so that even after I came back to india, he continued sending emails to his entire republic family trying telling to vote this monster out of the White House.
lastly, the world does not hate Americans, its the government and its policies that the world hates. I have lived with Americans for over 3 years, they were my friends and my family in a country where I didn't have any, and as brian so accurately post above, its the ignorant who believe in the rule of the fool.
Saving Grace? Only 4 more years...and then he is gone....:)
I'm living in a red state and I want to apologize to the blue states and to the world. Please don't forget that half the population in the red states wanted Bush out too. I never thought I would feel ashamed to be an American-but I do now. The young people went overwhelmingly against Bush. At least that's some hope for the future and the dangerous direction the far right is taking the country. Love and peace from one Christian who does not share the Republican's views and their interpretation of what it means to be Christian.
I'm sorry, world. I am sorry, soldiers.
As a first time voter, I thought I could make a difference. Now, all I feel that I can do is pray. It's going to be a rough ride; who knows what distruction will come from another 4 years with this imbicle? Not only that, we have a major damage control to look forward to in four years. I don't think those who re-elected Bush realized the horrific long term effects their votes would have. World, please accept my apology, this was out of my control.
As a neighbour to the North, may I express my condolences and sympathies at this funeral of your democracy, America? The entire world was present as you, this country capable of such glory, stood up next to that bumbling fool of a man and said "Yassir, we likes what he did, and we wants to keep 'im."
Let's hope Bush screws up enough that you can kick him out before another 4.
Sorry guys I voted in Virginia and yes I voted for Bush. First of all to MoM who said the people really affected on 9/11 voted against Bush is wrong because in DC those people that were killed were in the pentagon and were mostly military (DC elected a former crack addict as mayor come on!). I am sorry for all of you people that believe there are 60 million idiots in America. I am currently in the military and have served overseas, the choices for a new President were not that great. I voted for Bush because I don't see what John Kerry would have done to improve the situation overseas but end up fucking it up. It is not good to change the leadership of the American people in the middle of the biggest war most of us will hopefully see in our lifetime. Tell Kerry that if he gave the troops a real plan for what he might have been able to do to change things overseas more of us might have actually supported him. Thanks for your time and to all of you Liberals out there, statements about your fellow americans that you are making aren't going to help anything just make it worse. Maybe the blue states should start talking about succession from the Union would you be happy then it sounds like it!
America made the right choice! God bless America, and God bless President Bush!
Talking of morals now, the top 10 Divorce states are ALL red states! Most all the top murder rate states are RED states. Murder rates in states with capital punishment are higher than non capital punishment states. (thats almost always red states)http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/article.php?scid=12&did=168 And would you believe the state that the Bushies love to hate, the state that is a danger to the sanctity of "their" marriages, a state they say is the most liberal, has the LOWEST divorce rate of all 50! Yes, Massachusetts.
Let them explain that one!
It's a sad day when a candidates abilities, talents, experience, wisdom, leadership, desire to help the poor, the environment, and stop this reckless spending just don't count anymore. If you thought we had bad candidates before who will run nowdays now that you have to run against God?
The USA is the only developed nation where the gap between rich and poor is widening, and its widening fast. The only way one can keep power in such a situation is by fraud and misinformation. That we have seen now, thanks to President Karl Rove. Don't be fooled, he is in charge!
I just want to add my apologies to the world! I am from Maine and proud to live in a blue state, at least!
Hello to the sane Americans,
Don't be sorry about losing the election, I knew you tried, but it is pretty hard to fight a fixed election.
George and Company made sure that this time the Supreme court does not select him but was eager to have Diebold do the job for them.
Computers count backwards?
Keep on fighting guys, remember Nixon only stayed around 2 out of 4 years.
Well, I must say that it is a nice change to see the enlightened Americans recognize what is obviously a huge folly in American history. I commend you all for this. With regards to the "majority" of Americans that caused Bush to successfully be re-elected, I feel that these people would see the "light" if they were able to step outside of their isolated perspective and openly and honestly analyze what has occurred in the past four years. Unfortunately, American society is flooded with American issues. Sounds fine right? Nope. Come to Canada and watch the CBC for a change. You will notice that a significant portion of the news reports are on foreign issues and not ones that are only about warfare which is all too common and sensationalised on CNN. Oh and FOX news is an absolute joke. Nothing more need be said. Why am I harping on US news stations? Well, because these are the most readily accessible sources of information for the American people. All of those people who voted for Bush need to remember that America, as big as she is, is only ONE country among many. However, due to your international influence, the decisions made in America indirectly affect countless other nations around the world. Every single one of you that voted to re-elect this corrupt President failed not only your country, but also the rest of the world.
To those that voted for change, I urge you not to give up! So Bush is back in, it doesn't mean you have to accept that laying down! I would like to see visible protest which would help get a point across to President Bush and to the rest of the world. Make his second-term difficult by visibly opposing everything that you disagree with! If you sit down in front of the tv and make comments like "Oh, that's terrible" and don't actively do something about it, no progress is made. I'm supporting the America that is ready to force change for the better. Do not accept failure. Don't kid yourself, that this is exactly what the result of this election was, a failure.....but nothing is over until you give up hope.
*Some advice from a neighbour to the North
I would like to apologize to the world for America's (mis)decision and for our 59+ million dumb people who voted for Bush (sad, sad, sad...) Yet, I still would like to think that there may be something good coming out of this tragedy: at least, we may force our dumb, reelected president to take care of his stupid war in Iraq -- after all, this is his own mess. I know it's a long shot, but lets hope he will be able to figure out how to get out of it. Then, if it's not too late, we could Impeach him and get rid of him -- forever! I HOPE. I know, it's a very far fetched hope, but a hope nonetheless that we need to keep us from slicing our wrists or swallowing poison...
Please, help us keep our chins up to continue the fight against the dumb people.
Sorry and Thanks,
Peter Trevino
New York
Well I did'nt even waste my time voting, BUSH "won" the last time and he "won" this time too! Funny how all the states with the "new computerized system of voting" was a red state!?! I think this is going to be four more years of HELL on earth...with some simular 9/11 attacks and any other evil that you can think of, hence you vote for evil and you get evil.
Sorry,sorry,sorry-may God have mercy on us during the next four years!!!
Peter Trevino,
My sentiments exactly when you say that Bush has to cleam up his own mess.
I was hoping for Kerry to win, because to me, he is at least sane and sensible, but in a way, I did not wish the mess Bush made on anyone.
I AM SO SORRY!!! My parents both voted Bush, even though I did my best. They didn't really know what they were doing though. They only voted that way because they were told to. This is why Bush won. There were 59+ Americans who only voted the way a few people, who decided to destroy America, told them to. But who knows. Maybe we can kick him out of the White House before he completely destroys our country!
Hey I'm from Boston, and all of us want to say, whats up OHIO!?! Dude, you could totally have pulled us over but NO. I'm glad for all of you who voted for Kerry, and I'm sorry world that Bush IS back in office. Maybe if four years ago, the majority of americans had gotten what we wanted, we wouldnt have had to deal with this situation at ALL.
--- PROUD bostonian
HELP I'M SURROUNDED BY REPUBLICIANS !!! THEIR REASONS FOR VOTING FOR BUSH MORALS, TAXES,AND THE WAR. AFTER TALKING WITH THEM AWHILE I ALSO FIND OUT THEY HATE BLACKS, GAYS, AND MUSLIMS. THEY WANT AND END TO ALL SOCIAL PROGRAMS AND TAKE OVER THE MIDEAST.THESE ARE NOT THE MORALS I CARE TO LIVE WITH TO BAD I'TS COMING FROM MY NEIGHBORS AND IN-LAWS! I DON'T EVEN WANT TO BE AROUND THEIR NARROW MINDED, SELFISH, PEA BRAINS. PLEASE KEEP POSTING I'TS WONDERFUL TO HEAR THE TRUE VOICE OF GOODNESS.
I'm sorry world, I've tried to stand up for the Rights of the individual but, unfortunately, 99% of Americans voted for candidates that despise the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Bush, Kerry, and Nader were an embarrassment. For this, I'm sorry.
Did you ever wonder why the parts of this country that understand the
importance of international relations, race relations, and social
welfare all voted for Kerry. Maybe we should stop flying over the Midwest and
start driving through and settling in more homeless, uninsured,
minorities, immigrants and gays. Pollute their water and air and see how they
feel. Their pure Faith based gene pool is fired by their prejudice and
ability to run everyone else out. Like I said before It's no surprise
that North Dakota, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and
Wyoming have all had negative population growth for the past decade.
Sorry world, I tried to get bush out of power but I failed. I went to one of the spring states to help kerry out, I picketed, polled, and called thousands of registered democrats. I shouted slogans and handed out condoms stamped with campaign slogans. I was vaguely threatened by rednecks and a preacher. I ate exotic foods, gambled, partied, had sex in the shower, all for nothing, why did I even try to change america? I'm sorry world, I've failed you.
For at least the last forty years we've been witnessing the "dumbing down" of America. Now we see the awful consequences of the enforced mediocrity that comes as a by product of "Majority Rule". Democracy depends upon the informed will and consent of the people. But when the majority of people have become not just uninformed but willfully ignorant, pliable to the propaganda of the mass media which, in turn, has become the tool of the ruling class, democracy ceases to exist. While I believe that, in actuality, the election was stolen, the unforgivable stupidity of the majority of people in the "Red states" have made this travesty possible. Those of us who have been effectively disenfranchised in America are left with two critical choices: (1) Leave the country or (2) fight back with everything we have.
As a person emigrating to the US (Texas) and looking at the post-electoral map, I can only say, I wish I were going to one of those little blue dots.
Bush is such an obvious retard, how could anyone trust him with a country for Chrissake!!
I made the right decision this year and voted for Kerry / Edwards, for that, I am not sorry. I am however sorry to the rest of the world because they will have to endure an increase in terrorism and most likely the countries that supported our retarded imoral asshole of the nation (Bush), will have to suffer the most. I am not going to take this sitting down we must all wake up the sleeping giant with in us and make sure this never happens again!!. I am only happy that I am in a blue state and I look forward to the comments from the uninformed religious rednecks that includes several of my own brainwashed relatives. Has ignorance in America hit an all time high or what? I am still in shock. 59 million fucking idiots ignored all of the real issues that will keep our nation afloat by voting with fear driven by deceit. I hope this don't last 4 years. Someone has to have a silver bullet to stop this anti-power to the people administration. Our constitution means nothing to them. I say we fight!!!
Dear America,
What I have read confirmed what I have thought: not all of you are misinformed, ignorant, powerhungry, polluting idiots.
You don't need to be sorry, you did your best to get him out of the white house.
Much love,
David Rotterdam, Holland
I'M SORRY WORLD!
I live in Alabama. I see many children and teenagers fearing a life of damnation, should they turn Liberal. If you are "good," you hate all that is Liberal. Forget all that "Love thy neighbor as yourself" stuff. They focus on their judgments of others (gay marriage, abortion laws)and say they are sinful (If they are using the Bible as a reference, is it not pronounced "sinful" to be judgmental - ie "Thou shalt not Judge"?) And they do not look at the big picture. They do not see that Bush is demolishing our environment, limiting our freedoms, and having innocent people slaughtered daily - all under the guise of "freedom" and "Christianity." Which is the greater "sin"? We need to set our eyes on what we can each do to ban together to keep this fear based mongrel from altering our nation any further. Our lives, our children's lives, and the world's lives are at stake. We are no longer Paleolithic creatures who are ruled by Survival mode. We are evolving. Let's not go backwards into the infinite void of darkness. Let's go forwards into an age of Light and Prosperity!
Just wanted to share part of this article with your readers:
How Many More Iraqis Must Die for Our Revenge?
by Andrew Greeley
The election is over and so we can forget about the Iraq war. It is no longer a political issue and hence matters to no one. The American electorate has followed the tradition of standing by a wartime president and thus endorsing the president's war. It was once his war. Now the election has made it our war. The issue is closed.
A recent report suggested that if one compares the number of deaths that usually occur in Iraq per year with the number since Bush's invasion, the cost of the war in dead Iraqis may be more than a hundred thousand human beings. Now Iraqi deaths don't count because they look funny and talk funny and have a funny religion. Besides they're Arabs, and we have a score to settle with Arabs because of their attack on the World Trade Center. Yet if we are able to sustain the number of deaths that have happened as a consequence of the invasion, we will soon have accounted for as many as Saddam Hussein did. That's a lot of dead Arabs -- and a lot of bereaved spouses, parents, children, other relatives and friends. How many before will we have to kill before we're satisfied with our revenge?
Someone might say that when leaders of a country have caused so many deaths that they might just deserve to be hauled before an international court of justice as war criminals -- especially if the war was based on false premises and conducted with an ineptitude that staggers the mind. It is an unnecessary, unjust, stupid, sinful war. The majority of Americans have assumed responsibility for the war. Therefore they share responsibility for all the Iraqi deaths.
I am sorry that Bush was re-elected. I am sorry for Americans. In my country(China), most of the people dislike Bush very much, we sympthized on the people in Iraq so much, i wish Bush can come to Iraq himself one day to see what he has done to the poor people there!
